China vows stable policies to sustain economic growth

The Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China’s (CPC) Central Committee pledged on Monday to stabilise and improve macro policies to enhance the quality and efficiency of economic growth in the 2016-2020 period, Chinese state-run news agency Xinhua reported.

According to a statement released after a bureau meeting, China would continue to implement “proactive fiscal policies” and “prudent monetary policies”. The country would also step up “supply-side structural reforms to power growth”, Xinhua added.

The Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee also said green development would be made a priority for the country. It additionally pledged to speed up the development of agriculture, according to the news agency.

China’s economy grew by 6.9 percent year-on-year in 2015, its lowest annual expansion in 25 years.
