Angola’s Minister of National Defence visits China

Angola’s National Defence Minister, João Lourenço, has started an official visit to China aimed at evaluating and enhancing bilateral co-operation, Angolan newspaper Jornal de Angola reported.

During the visit, Mr Lourenço will meet with his Chinese counterpart, Chan Wanquan. This is the second visit the Angolan Minister pays to the Asian country in six months, according to the report.

During his last official visit to China – in September – Mr Lourenço and his delegation visited several defence-related factories and educational institutions in Beijing, Chengdu and Shanghai. Zhang Shibo, the President of Beijing-based China’s National Defence University, said in the occasion the institution was willing to co-operate with Angolan military education entities.
